The Electro Spring Ball
Bringing in Spring with a Swing!
The Electro-Swing Ball was delighted to hold a party to celebrate the coming of Spring in the beautiful surroundings of the Morris Hall in Shrewsbury. The lovely old tudor building really added to the feel of the event and it created an intimate and special atmosphere.
The evening started off with a dance lesson from the gorgeous Isabel Rodriguez who taught everyone to swing like it was 1922! The night was then formally opened by our gorgeous compère Liberty Pink, who sang and teased the crowd throughout the night. Additionally we had stunning performances from our gorgeous burlesque acts Oh Carolina and Pixie Amore, and our resident juggler and entertainer supreme Charlie Parker.
The Swinging DJs
Our main performers were then DJR who got the dancing going with lots of exciting electro-swing and balkan tunes. Our guest headliner was The C@ In The H@ who has become a real superstar in the world of electro-swing performing lots of his own productions and mashups. The night was closed by Free Breaks Blog’s Bertie Dastard who brought lots of banging ghetto swing and funk to give the night a suitably rousing conclusion.
Raising Money for the British Red Cross
We were delighted that this event sold out; we were able to give all of our proceeds to the British Red Cross to support their work both in this country and overseas.
During the Ball our incredible friend Julie Lou Weston took lots of divine photos which are now available to buy. Julie is a pro photographer (as you will clearly see), but came to the Ball as a guest and was kind enough to take these shots while she was there (how lovely?!) Because it’s for charity we have been given a special discount on the prints so a 7 x 5 print is £3 rather than the usual £5 and the profits will be donated to the British Red Cross.
